A few weeks ago, I attended a quite amazing Pitt Homecoming tailgate, complete with much food, a wine bag in a Pitt pumpkin and a TV hooked up to Direct TV. At this storied tailgate is where I, along with many others, discovered the glory that is the WENDAE Frosty Shot.

My friend Karey had made them, and graciously gave the recipe to my galfriend. It’s just some Cool Whip, Jello Pudding mix, milk and some liquor – and tastes just like a WENDAE Frosty. We made our first batch of WENDAE Frosty Shots for a Halloween party, to which the shots were received with great success. Fueled by this success, Liz whipped up a batch of 140 for this past weekends Pitt/ND Tailgate. Again, great success, followed by many people asking for the recipe and emailing afterwards: “Thank you for bringing those WENDAE Frosty shots to the tailgate” We have yet to find an individual who does not grow an instant smile after having a WENDAE Frosty shot.

After so much positive feedback, there is no doubt in my mind that this potent little entity is the missing piece to World Peace. My hope is that you find the recipe below, create some magical frozen deliciousness, and help us in bringing about peace, one WENDAE Frosty shot at a time:

WENDAE Frosty Shot Recipe:
2 1/2 3.5 oz packages of chocolate instant pudding
2 cups of milk (maybe some more if it’s too thick)
1 cup of vanilla vodka (plus a tiny splash)
1 1/4 cups of Bailey’s Irish Cream
20 oz. of cool whip

Whisk the pudding and milk together. Add in vodka and Bailey’s. Fold in Cool Whip. Spoon into cups and freeze. The recipe makes about 40 shots.

Very easy to make and the measurements don’t have to be exact. It’s tempting to add in lots of extra vodka to really pack a punch but apparently if you go overboard, the shots don’t freeze very well. Also, please note that the 1 cup + tiny splash is already an increase on the recipe which only calls for 3/4 cup… so maybe putting more in would be a really bad idea.

If only Barry Obama woulda offered some to the Chinese President on his recent visit…
