At work today, I discovered a pleasant surprise.
I always use Mozilla Firefox for any of my internet browsing, except for a few times I have to access work applications via only Internet Explorer. When I pointed IE towards Google, I couldn’t stop smiling – check out the difference below for yourself:
Yep, you’ve got that right – Google has finally broken down and started to muddy their notoriously simple, brilliant, less-is-more homepage with ugly advertisements. I always figured if I’d have to say that sentence, it would be a sad day. Yet once again, Google has come through (at least in my eyes) in flying colors, by pushing their browser only to IE users who hit their site. Since 2006 Google has enjoyed a strong relationship with Firefox, so its understandable why they aren’t advertising their new browser with Firefox users hits.
Is Google within their corporate motto “Don’t be Evil?” Sure – all’s fair in love and war ;)
You’re move Billy… maybe Jerry’s available?
ps – In related news, Congrats to Ubuntu and releasing Jaunty Jackalope today!

Everything that was once free has started involving some kind of advertising. You honestly can’t get away from it. Sooner or later, advertisements will find you.
